September 11: A Quilt
Tuesday's Child: Does God Have Enough Hands?

Visit Purpose: to
deliver 300 thank you letters to ground zero workers Deborah Fell's art
opening at the United Nations Building was a great honor and
very humbling. Even more important, however, was the letter
writing campaign done in Urbana School District 116, Urbana,
Illinois. The entire district was invited to contribute
letters, pictures, wishes which Deborah would deliver to the
Ground Zero Headquarters upon arrival to Manhattan. What
started out as an 8" x 10" envelope, grew into a specially
designed box filled with the letters, drawings and wishes.
The box went through three airports, one airport transfer, a
city bus through Harlem and a subway ride and transfer to
the Ground Zero area of lower Manhattan. The students at
Urbana School District felt like they were helping others in
an impossible time. They felt like could contribute in a
small way to help our country heal.

The ultimate honor for an artist--Deborah Fell's 9/11 art quilt Tuesday's Child: Does God Have Enough Hands? is now being exhibited at the former Ground Zero Headquarters, Trinity St. Paul's Chapel.
*I encourage everyone to visit St. Paul's Chapel. It offers a place for reflection. The exhibits are incredibly moving; I am just lucky enough to have an art quilt there for now. But to go to the chapel, right at the edge of Ground Zero, is a profound experience that will change you forever.
In June 2005, I dropped off the 9/11 art quilt at St. Paul's Chapel:
